Music Ministry

Music is a vital component to worship and central to the life of First Methodist Prattville. Our Music Ministry seeks to empower people of all ages to be leaders in worship. We recognize the important role music plays in worship, education, and spiritual growth, not only for those performing, but also for those who are listening.

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir  regularly sings in the traditional worship services. This choir is open to adults who have an interest in singing sacred music and who are committed to serving Christ with their musical abilities.

Modern Worship Team

Join the worship team for our modern worship service. We need people who are passionate about Jesus to serve as musicians (vocalists and instrumentalists) and in the audio/visual ministry (working in the sound booth and behind the scenes).  Under the direction of our Director of Modern Worship, the worship team practices weekly on Thursday nights in Pratt Hall to prepare for the upcoming worship services. Contact Mat Napp for more information on how to get involved.

Children's Choir

First Methodist is blessed to have a wonderful choir program for children of all ages. Our age level choirs meet weekly during the school year in preparation for singing in our traditional worship services, as well as a special Christmas program and spring program. Our children's choirs are divided according to their age group and meet with their choir directors  from 5:45-6:30 on Wednesday nights before attending Bible study at 6:30.

Genesis Singers

The Genesis Singers Youth Choir is open to students in grades 7th-12th. This choir sings frequently in the traditional worship services and takes an annual choir tour to various cities throughout the United States.  They meet weekly on Sunday nights at 5:00pm.

Handbell Choir

The Handbell Choir meets weekly to prepare for a wide-range of sacred handbell music to play in our traditional worship services. Prior handbell experience and the ability to read music is required for this ensemble.

50 Forward Singers

The 50 Forward Singers is open to anyone age 50 or older who has a desire to serve through music. This group meets weekly to rehearse hymns and popular music from the "good ol' days" to present to residents at local nursing facilities.
To find out more information about any of these groups, please contact Jeremy Pyles, Director of Music Ministries at jeremy@prattvillemethodist.org.
